What happens in a Soma Breath Session Class with Cheryl

The idea of these sessions are to awaken the body and both hemispheres of the brain and bring in heart coherence to balance and decrease the level of stress in our minds and held within our physical bodies.

After a warm introduction we start with free movement to awaken the SOMA, the energy in which the wonderful music designed for this will have you energised. Next we use our voices by tone or chanting to release tension and allow flow in the body and the endocrine system. After this we dive right into breathwork which can be done lying down or seated. With myself and the beats of the music I guide you into rhythmic breathing and combine this with Kumbhaka, breath retention with full and empty lungs so you can override the autonomic nervous system and access the deepest part of the brain.

With visualisation, relaxation can create the feelings and qualities we would like to improve for ourselves. You can also just simply relax, as we finish our session. SOMA breath is powerful yet safe modality having been practiced by yogis throughout time. You will be left feeling refreshed, clear-headed, uplifted and calm. Some find emotions that they just observe and allow to flow to the surface ready for release.

Sessions are suitable for all ages.

However, those with high blood pressure, pregnant, heart problems, asthmatic, diabetic should seek your Drs advice first.
